Abstract

Original logbook of the Fish Hawk, January 1916 to 12 March 1916, station record numbers 8450-8496. Beginning date is estimated to be about January 25, though days were not recorded for the first few entries. Data recorded include station no., date, hour, position (lat. and long.), locality, depth, bottom, wind direction, wind force, sea, sky, temperatures, currents, "nets, etc., used", and notes. Notes include remarks on course, dredging, and other notes. Stations are probably located in waters off of Virginia and Maryland. Localities include: Thimble Shoal, Cape Henry, and possibly others.
