Abstract

Original logbook of the Fish Hawk covers August 28, 1905, station record numbers 7784 to 7786. These include data relating to temperature and density recorded during dredging. The majority of the log book is blank. Data recorded includes date, time of day, tide, locality, exact location (latitude and longitude), depth, nature of bottom, dredging instrument used, direction of drift, distance, temperature (of air, surface water, bottom), density of surface and bottom, number of salinometer, barometer reading, state of sky, direction of wind, name of observer, and position of observer. Observer was not recorded. Locality: unclear though likely along the coast of the northeast United States.
