Abstract

Original logbook of the Fish Hawk covers September 1, 1903 - July 29, 1904, station record numbers 7595 to 7627, 7521a to 7547a. These include data relating to temperature and density recorded during dredging. Data recorded includes date, time of day, tide, locality, exact location, depth, nature of bottom, dredging instrument used, direction of drift, distance, temperature (of air, surface water, bottom), number of salinometer, barometer reading, state of sky, direction of wind, and name of observer. Includes notes on the reverse side of page listing type of marine life found and notes on abundance. Observer was Vernon E. West. Locality: Vineyard Sound and Buzzards Bay in Massachusetts.
