Abstract

Original logbook of the Albatross, hydro numbers 7715 to 7768, 14 to 17 November 1916 and 15 to 17 August 1917. Data recorded include station number (no.), date, hour, position, locality, depth, bottom, sample, wind (direction and force), sea, sky, temperatures (depth, thermometer make and no., reading, stem temp., correction, corrected temp., w. sample, bottle used), currents (depth, hour, tide, time down, revolutions, speed, direction), color of water, transparency, remarks, nets used (description, depth, time, speed), and notes. Locality: Santa Barbara Channel, Smugglers Cove (Santa Cruz Island), Anacapa Island, Santa Monica, and San Nicholas Island.
