Abstract

The pages of black-and-white photographs document field work in Iran, 1962 - 1963. The photographer is not identified. Photographs include captions describing subject matter, location (town, region, country), date (month and year). Subject matter cover pika habitat, aerial views (foot hills, Elburz mountains, and villages), campsites, vegetation and terrain, specimens (hircus, hyena, tortoise, owl), military aircraft and staff (names are listed), caged felis sylvestris, participants and local staff at campsites. Locations include Khurasan [Khorāsān], Elburz mountains [Reshteh-ye Kūhhā-ye Alborz], Dashti-i-Kauir [Dasht-e Kavīr], and Baluchistan. Some photographs are duplicates, but include additional caption information.
