Abstract

The black-and-white photographs document the work in Iran, October 1962 - October 1963. Images include captions covering a combination of location (country, region, geological landmark), subject matter, and date (month and year). The photographer is not identified. Subject matter covers participants and local staff, local inhabitants, specimens (lizards, mammals, tortoises, birds, sometimes with scientific name), observed flora and fauna, aerial views of terrain, pika habitat, candid images of participants and campsites, and military aircraft. Locations cover Teheran [Tehran], Baluchistan, Khurasan [Khorāsān], and Dasht-i-lut [Dasht-e Lūt]. Includes duplicates.
