Abstract

The color slides taken by various individuals document field work completed as part of the Smithsonian Institution African Mammal Project, 1963 - 1968. Slides are organized in small boxes. These include slides that were taken for or by HWS [Henry W. Setzer] in Kenya and trip to Kilaguni, 1963 and 1968. Includes slides taken by Bruce Hayward (Kenya 1963); A. Hardy (Botswana, Rhodesia, 1965); D. E. Harvey (Mauritania, 1967). Captions vary in content, and include a combination of subject matter, location (sometimes elevation), date, and photographer. Subject matter includes habitat, specimens, flora and fauna, candid images of participants and local inhabitants, and game parks. Includes images for Mozambique (1964); Togo (1968); and Botswana (1965). A note indicates that slides also include images of South Africa. Some images may duplicate cataloged black-and-white photographs.
