Abstract

The black and white photographs were taken by William Foshag of Paricutín Volcano, July 29, 1943 - March 2, 1944. Includes image numbers F121 - F171. On the reverse side, some include the image number, date, and sometimes a description or indication of vantage point. Subject matter includes vegetation with encroaching lava flows; nighttime and daytime eruptions; vistas with volcano in the far background; the cone; slopes of the volcano; plumes of smoke and vapor; unidentified individuals in terrain changed by lava; and street in the town of Capacuaro, Mexico. Includes duplicates.
