Abstract

The black and white photographs were taken by William Foshag of Paricutín Volcano, July 24 - August 3, 1943. They include image numbers F72 - F97K. On the reverse side is the image number, date, and sometimes a description or indication of vantage point. In most of the images, the volcano can be seen emitting plumes of smoke. Subject matter includes local inhabitants observing lava flows; vistas of agricultural fields from Uruapan highway with Paricutín in the distance; the cone; vegetation and structures consumed by a lava; front of a lava ridge; and images of bombs. Includes duplicates.
