Abstract

The black and white photographs were taken by William Foshag of Paricutín Volcano, June 10 -14, 1943. They include image numbers F33d - F49. On the reverse side will usually be found the date, image number, and sometimes description or indication of vantage point. In most of the images, the volcano can be seen emitting plumes of smoke. Subject matter includes the cone; the volcano with local inhabitants in the foreground; examples of surrounding terrain damaged by eruptions; the slopes of the volcano; detail shots of the crater; the Quitzocho ridge; the lava flow reaching local residences; and detail shots of lava flows. May include duplicates.
