Abstract

Original logbook of the Albatross, dredge numbers 4337-4355, (number hydro in this book: 4799), 9 April to 11 May 1904. Data recorded include survey and dredge number (no.), date, machine, turns, correction, depth, shot or lead, bottom, bottom temperature, number of thermometer, correction, corrected temperature, air temperature, surface temperature, drift, trawl or dredge, sounding wire readings, dredge rope readings, serial temperatures, and general remarks. Localities include the waters off of Santa Catalina Island , San Nicholas Island, San Miguel, and Santa Rita in California.
