Abstract

This folder includes miscellaneous notes by Edmund Heller. Many of the notes appear to have been made in the field, or contain field data for mammals collected in Africa. Locations in Africa include: South Africa, Nigeria, Angola, Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe), Uganda, and Kenya. Notes are on: reticulated giraffe and antelopes, including collected skeletons and skulls. Data sheets include the following fields: museum no., locality, sex and age, measurements, and other information. Also includes a watercolor sketch of a partial albino Dik-Dik by Sir Alfred Pease. Includes correspondence with Alfred Pease and Evan Dehewery (?). A list of "large African mammals collected by Wm Lord Smith for M.C.Z." can also be found in this folder.
