Abstract

The field catalog and notes document the mammal and reptile collecting of T. J. McIntyre in Viet Nam, 1965 - 1966. The entries are headed with location (combination of landmarks (includes US military camps), region, nation) and date. They cover specimen number (314 - 728), sex, type, 4 measurements, weight, measurements and characteristics of sexual organs and presence of embryos, sometimes USNM catalog number or specimen preparation. Includes species notes listed by scientific name, location and date, and McIntyre's collector number (TJM###). They cover descriptions of the specimens of the related genus collected, vegetation, habitat, specimen preparation, trapping method (type, bait), presence of ectoparasites, results of autopsy. There are sketches of specimen anatomy and collecting sites. Locations include but not limited to Da Nang and Mt. Sontra [Sơn Trà].|There is a note from D. M. Cochran about McIntyre, Lowery and Ryan's specimens cataloged USNM catalog #163631 - 163988.
