The field catalog documents the collecting of ectoparasites by R. M. Davis, A. C. Risser, P. J. Geldenhuys, as part of the Smithsonian African Mammal Project, 1964 - 1966, and undated. Entries cover specimen number (Davis 1378 - 3919; Risser 913 - 1711; Geldenhuys 682 - 765), presence of ectoparasites (fleas, mites, ticks, lice, other), host genus, and remarks. Remarks cover a combination of information about host including method trapped, age, collector, if no ectoparasites, presence and location of chiggars. Locations collected by Risser and Geldenhuys are across South Africa, including Orange Free State [Free State] (Geldenhuys). Includes photocopied materials.
