Abstract

The field book includes a specimen catalog and journal, documenting the collecting of Mohammad Iqbal in West Pakistan, 1964 - 1967. Begins with catalog entries headed with location (combination of region, elevation, district), date, and followed with specimen number, sex, type (sometimes common name), USNM catalog number (non sequential), second specimen identifier, and 4 measurements. Journal entries are dated and headed with location (combination of landmark, distance from town, district). They describe travel details (routes, destinations), daily work, specimens collected sometimes with time of day, collecting method (type, quantity, location), weather, ectoparasites, and work with local inhabitants.
