The two journals document the collecting of A. C. Risser and Ronald H. Pine in West Pakistan in 1964 - 1965. Risser's journal includes dated entries (April 4 - August 2, 1965) that are headed with locations (combination of region / district, town, distance from). Entries describe travel details, interactions with local inhabitants, collecting methods (type, quantity, location), habitat, daily work, weather, ectoparasites, terrain, routes, specimens collected (type, quantity, sex, sometimes weight), and observations of flora and fauna. There are sometimes sketches of route or maps of collecting sites (with notes about type and status of crops in area). There are often notes on vegetation with sketches and maps. There is a sketch of locally made trap and various types of equipment. At the end of the journal are list of collecting sites with latitude and longitude as well as mammal formulae.|Pine's journal includes dated entries (July 3 -August 30, 1964) that are headed with location (combination of landmark (i.e. resthouse), distance from, town, elevation, district). He states that he is working in the field with Robert Amoureux and Mohammad Akbar (possibly Iqbal).
