Abstract

The field book documents the mammal collecting of J. F. Duncan, November 22, 1967 - April 5, 1968. Entries are dated and headed with location, collecting method (quantity, type), specimen number (JFD1 - JFD69), type, 4 measurements, sex, specimen preparation, notes on chromosome prep and blood slides. Locations are across Viet Nam including Côn So'n Island and Nui Naa Bah(?). There are descriptive narratives covering specimens collected and collecting events. These include observed flora and fauna, interactions with local inhabitants and colleagues, daily work and time of day, collecting method (bait, type, quantity). There are references to Van Peenan. A portion of the notebook is blank. Specimens were also collected in Dahlgren, Virginia.
