Abstract

The field book documents the mammal collecting of Peter F. D. Van Peenan at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, August 4 - September 26, 1968; South Vietnam March 1 - April 21, 1969. Some entries are dated and headed with location (latitude and longitude) and cover collecting method (type of trap, location, quantity), vegetation, habitat, and soil composition. Some are headed with specimen number, location, and description of collecting event with time of day, specimen description (combination of type, 4 measurements, sex, preparation, results of autopsies). There is a portion of the notebook that is blank. At the end of the notebook is a list of specimens with USNM catalog number, date, location, specimen number, type, weight, sex, 4 measurements, and notes. On the back inside cover are a list of contacts.
