PrintThis item consists of the field notes of Remington Kellogg from various trips to collect fossils in Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina, circa 1925-1954. The notes are typewritten with annotations. Field notes for different years follow different formats. Some notes are are arranged by topic or locality and describe Miocene formations, lists of fossils found, notes on sections and formations, zone, and measurement in feet. Chronological entries include date, localities visited and explored, notes on field work including specimens collected, distance (in miles). Some entries include catalog or collector number. Localities in Maryland include: Chesapeake Beach, St. Leonards Creek, Dares Wharf, Plum Point. Localities in Virginia include: Nomini Cliffs, Sand Gates, Forest Wharf, Patuxent River. Localities in North Carolina include: Murfresboro, Tarboro.
