Field notes, M. L. Cunningham
Close
PrintThe field book documents the mammal collecting of M. L. Cunningham in Vietnam. Work was completed in conjunction with Peter F. D. Van Peenen, and John F. Duncan to study the epidemiology of zoonoses of Southeast Asia (Navy Research Project MR 4305.12-3004) on Côn So'n Island. Journal entries are dated and headed with location. They detail collecting methods (type, quantity, location), specimens, daily work, terrain and vegetation. After a blank portion of the notebooks is a list of mammal specimens collected on Côn So'n Island: numbers MLC12 - MLC111 with type, 4 measurements, USNM catalog number, location and some notes on specimen preparation. Location information sometimes includes room in buildings. There are hand drawn maps of collecting sites.
