Abstract

The log documents specimens collected by R. H. Light in Vietnan, 1969. Entries cover USNM catalog number (non sequential), additional identifier, date, locality (country, province, town, landmarks, sometimes specifying buildings), latitude and longitude, sex, weight, elevation, measurements, and sometimes specimen preparation. Journal entries cover March 1 - April 20. Entries describe travel details (mode of transportation, routes, interactions with colleagues including Van Peenan, checking in with NAMRU-2 detachment, specimen collecting, collecting methods (quantity, trap type, locations, type of habitat), daily activities, vegetation, and habitat. There are some personal observations of local communities. Locations include Mt. Sontra [Sơn Trà] and Da Nang. A portion of the notebook is blank.
