Abstract

This folder consists of the field notes and materials related to the research vessel Walther Herwig, 1966-1971. Materials include handwritten field notes, typed station information lists, typed specimen lists, correspondence (in German), hand-drawn graphs of salinity and temperature, and a field book by Robert H. Gibbs. The field book by Gibbs was written in 1971 and includes narrative diary-type entries describing the trip that set sail from Argentina, including stations, collecting activities, and observations. Localities include: Argentina, Tristan da Cunha, and Cape Town (South Africa), possibly others.
