Abstract

The field catalog documents C. O. Handley's collecting of mammals in Panama, May - June, 1957. There are notes on the first page about marks noting correlation of information in catalog and journal. Entries cover specimen number (3170 - 3730), USNM catalog number (non sequential), sex, type (scientific name), locality (region, town), date, 4 measurements, and notes. Notes vary in length and include a combination of habitat description, vegetation, additional location information (i.e. landmarks), time of day, phase of moon, specimen anatomy characteristics (i.e. stomach contents) and measurements, specimen preparation, bait, and collecting method. Locations include Panamá, Mandinga (San Blas), and Cerro Azul.
