Abstract

The mammal catalog documents C. O. Handley's collecting of mammals, 1947 - 1952. Entries cover specimen numbers 1190 - 2441, with gaps in the numbering. Entries include sex, type (scientific name), date, 4 measurements, weight, locality (combination of state, county, island, body of water, distance from, geological landmarks i.e. Clark mine), and specimen preparation. Sometimes information includes a combination of specimen measurements, collector if other than Handley, health and condition of specimen, presence of embryos, and additional characteristics. Locations include Michigan, North Carolina, Tennessee; Northwest Territories, Labrador, Canada.
