Abstract

The journal and notes document C. O. Handley's field work in Virginia, District of Columbia, Tennessee, North Carolina, Maryland, August 13, 1951 - May 25, 1952. Entries include a variety of entry types: bird lists (type, quantity, sometimes sex) headed with date and locality (combination of state, county, geological landmark, distance from); journal style entries of observations of specimen collecting (mammals and birds); observations of flora and fauna (sometimes subheadings of fauna followed by descriptions of appearance and behavior).
