Abstract

This item consists of the field notes, observation lists, and species accounts of Patrick J. Gould, created in 1963 and 1964 as part of his work with the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey. Field notes include personal travel accounts and diary entries interspersed with bird observation activities. The observation list includes daily observations of birds at sea, with species and hour and minute observed. A small hand drawn map indicates the path of observation at sea, traveling south of Johnston Island in the Pacific Ocean.
