PrintThe notes describe field work of C. O. Handley in for the BCI bat project in Panama, February 18 - March 18, 1975. There are notes about boat schedule and collecting locations on the mainland, names and descriptions of staff. These are followed by entries, headed with date and location / route. Entries describe work is to initiate a long-term study of bat populations in BCI. Entries describe travel details (time of day, destination, mode of transportation), daily activities, weather, collecting methods, specimens collected (sometimes lists with code (possibly corresponding to tagging or "tattoo"), type, sex, and age), mammals and birds seen with notes on abundance / rarity, descriptions of work completed by colleagues. There are entries with various types of lists and tables of information about bats collected and related time of day and collecting site, sometimes with collecting site number. There are sketches of equipment and maps of collecting sites. Locations include Barro Colorado Island.
