Abstract

This folder contains 165 black-and-white photographs taken by Leonard P. Schultz during work on Operation Crossroads, 1946-1947 in the Marshall Islands. The photographs depict field work including the collection of fish specimens. Also depicted are other members of Operation Crossroads, ships (possibly USS Bowditch or USS Chilton), sailing boats, local inhabitants, and landscapes (including islands, water, and coral reefs). A subset of 65 unclassified images were sent from John C. Healey, War and Navy Departments, to Schultz in 1947.
