This folder contains field notes and other documents related to fish collections made during the Presidential Cruise to the Galapagos in 1938, on which Franklin Delano Roosevelt was a participant. Two sheets of paper each have the heading Seriola colburni; it appears that each sheet may correspond to one specimen of this species [preferred name: Seriola rivoliana]. A list of measurements is recorded on each sheet. On one sheet the number 538-18 is recorded at the top; on the other sheet, 538-21 is recorded at the top. Also in the folder is a typed list of tin tag numbers of fish collected on the cruise; numbers span from 1 to 27, with additional unnumbered specimens listed at the end. Collections date from 19 July - 1 August 1938; a specimen collected on 6 August 1938 is recorded on another list. Localities include Mexico, islands of the Galapagos Islands [Archipiélago de Colón], Clipperton Island, Cocos Island [Isla del Coco], and Old Providence Island [Isla de Providencia]. Other contents of the folder are carbon copies of a typed station list and a typed list of fishes.
