Abstract

This item consists of field journals and species accounts by Joe T. Marshall, detailing his field work with birds from 1988-1992. For each of these years there is a separate journal series, followed by or interspersed with integral species accounts. Dated journal entries detail accounts of observing and collecting birds in such areas as the United States, Canada, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico. Information included are times, altitudes, weather conditions, terrain and forest descriptions, and bird lists with species. Journal pages are numbered and species accounts generally contain dates and specific localities, as well as accounts of different occasions of observing and collecting animals. There are a number of animal sketches, as well as sketched and printed maps with field notes, and other relevant materials.
