Abstract

This box contains sheets of photographs and notes on fish collected in Liberia in 1952 to 1954. Affixed to each sheet is a black-and-white photograph of a fish and a sheet of notes about the fish. Fields include common name, scientific name, tribal name, scientific synonyms, world distribution, occurrence in Liberia, type of commercial gear used in taking species, page no. in Fowler and Irvine, tag no. sent to Smithsonian Institution, date, gear, and areas collected, and remarks. Tag numbers are approximately in the ranges of 2-11 and 1601-1798. Sheets are not in sequential order by tag number or in chronological order, and may not have been created in the field. It is unknown whether the photographs were taken in the field.
