Abstract

This is a black-and-white photograph taken while Charles Branch Wilson worked at the Johns Hopkins University's marine laboratory at Port Antonio, Jamaica in 1897. The photograph depicts a massive sprawling cottonwood tree with a man standing next to his horse and carriage on the road beneath it.
