Abstract

This folder contains correspondence between Harry S. Ladd and Yoshio Kondo regarding fossiliferous rock collected by Kondo on Eua ['Eua], Tongo, in 1967. Kondo collected the material in response to a request from Ladd in 1966. A letter from Kondo to Ladd on 27 August 1967 provides detailed locality information. The material was shipped to the U.S. National Museum and processed by Ladd and others. It contained fossil brachiopods, Foraminifera, and other marine invertebrates. Additional correspondence between Ladd and Kondo about Kondo's Eua collection, fossils identified, and subsequent publications, continues to 1972. Also included in this folder is correspondence between Ladd and other individuals about fossils from Eua, Tonga.
