Abstract

This item includes the photocopied field notes of A. Binion Amerson Jr. taken while observing and banding birds in 1963 as a part of the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey. The entries are sequentially dated and observations are recorded in a narrative style. Observation and banding locations include: Pearl Harbor, Oahu; and CG Loran Station, Sand Island, Johnston Atoll. Also included are some hand drawn maps of Disappearing Island, East Island, Gin Island, Little Gin Island, Mullet Island, North Island, Trig Island, and Whale-Skate Island. Some maps indicate nesting locations of seabirds including Sooty Tern, Common Noddy, Grey-backed Tern.
