Abstract

This volume catalogs fish collected by Silas Stearns in Florida. The primarily locality is Pensacola, Florida; a few records give Key West as the locality. Each page has one entry, with the species name as the heading. Included in entries are catalog numbers, locality, detailed description of color and morphology of specimen, and measurements. Entries are undated; dates in the date fields of this record are presumed to be Stearns' active collecting years in the Florida. The catalog numbers are primarily in the range of 30000 to 33000, although are not in sequential order and not all numbers in that range are used. Some correspond to USNM catalog numbers.
