Abstract

This is a volume of collecting records for Woods Fisheries Laboratory recorded by H.M. Smith. Entries are from 1906, 1922, 1923, 1927, 1936, and 1937. Most entries are headed by species name. Some entries are records of collections made by Smith as well as by other individuals. These entries generally include species name, date, locality, and collection method, and may also include measurements and color description. Other entries in the volume are natural history information for particular species, notes on spawning activity of fish in the laboratory, and records of fishes in the collection of the Boston Society of Natural History that Smith examined.
