Abstract

This field book consists of the field notes of David Griffiths, from field work conducted in the United States (including Arizona, Nevada, and Oregon), 1900 to 1901, and 1923. Narrative diary-type entries are interspersed with lists of plant specimens collected. The diary-type entries include Griffiths' record of travel, collecting activities and daily activities, and observations of plants and local vegetation. Collector numbers 2189 through 2748 are included. Localities include: Hooker's Ranch (AZ), Tucson Mountains (AZ), Pine Forest Mountains (NV), Eastern Oregon area (OR). Towards the back of the field book is a list of plant names (some with numbers) under the heading: "A. F. plantings on Flats [?] Fall '23, South to North, R to L".
