Abstract

This folder contains a nautical chart of Blue Hill Bay and other waters around the western part of Mount Desert Island, Maine. Numbered locations on the map may document collecting locations by Raymond Carroll Osburn. A number on the outside of the map, 208837, corresponds to an accession number associated with Osburn in the Smithsonian Institute invertebrate collection. Numbers on the map are in the range of 10 to 50 and are off the coast of the western side of Mount Desert Island. The printed chart was issued in 1930; the notations on the map are undated. Dates used in the date fields of this record encompass the period from the year the map was issued to 1955, the year of Osburn's death. The other documents in this folder are lists of Pacific bryozoa from various sources.
