Abstract

This volume is a journal of travel and field research activities on the vessel Grampus in 1916. There is no creator name in this volume, but the 1916-1917 volume of this set is attributed to W.W. Welsh. The Grampus trip began 18 July 1916; prior to that most activities recorded were in the area of Gloucester [Massachusetts] and included regularly recording the catch at Magnolia trap. Station numbers recorded from aboard the Grampus span from approximately 10340 to 10397. Data recorded include surface temperatures, catch, and fish lengths. Locations were in the Atlantic Ocean off the Massachusetts coast and the mid-Atlantic coast, as well as Long Island Sound.
