Abstract

This item is a book compiled by Charles W. Richmond in 1911 of original bird specimen labels from the USNM. Labels are numbered 82500-351759, and contain such information as field number, species, locality, sex, collector, date, and survey. Labels range from many different years and localities, some of which include the United States, Costa Rica, Guatemala, China, and Japan. Collectors are also wide-ranging, but include Robert Ridgway, L. Belding, George Shoemaker, and Edward J. Brown. The book is generally organized by species.
