Abstract

This item is a book compiled by Charles W. Richmond in 1911 of original bird specimen labels from the USNM. Labels are numbered 1-15499, and contain such information as field number, species, locality, sex, collector, date, and survey. Labels range from many different years and localities, some of which include Washington state, New York, Texas, Florida, and California. Collectors are also wide-ranging, but include S. F. Baird, John Xantus, Titian Ramsay Peale, George Suckley, and R. J. Pollard. The book is generally organized by species.
