Abstract

Field notes and research notes on various genera of coral, circa 1875-1878, created by Richard Rathburn during a collecting trip to various parts of Brazil. Most notes are research notes reference literature from earlier dates. Notes are divided into seven sections: Favia; Mussa; Pectinia; Madracis (2 sections); and Siderastraea. Included are narrative descriptions of specimens; distribution notes; and measurements; coordinates, notes on literature and citations. According to one set of coordinates, one of the localities Ratherburn visited is Bahia.
