Abstract

This is a notebook by Frank Knowlton for the United States Geological Survey detailing his field work from June 17 - July 9, 1896. Localities include but may not be limited to Colorado and Wyoming. Dated daily entries describe travel details, daily activity, plant fossils uncovered and collected, soil and rock conditions and composition, and distances and elevations. There is also a geological sketch of rock layers with descriptions.
