Abstract

This field book consists of diary-type entries by P. C. Standley during a collecting trip to Central America, 1923 to 1924 to collect orchids and other plants. Daily entries include narrative accounts of travel (including his route from New York to Haiti, Panama, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica), daily activities, collecting activities, and other observations. Localities include: Port-au-Prince (Haiti), Balboa (Panama), Pueblo Nuevo (Nicaragua), France Field (?), Mount Hope (?), and Cartago (Costa Rica).
