Abstract

The journal documents the field work of Norman Peterson, D. Peacock and R. Peacock for the Smithsonian Venezuelan Project, October 17 - December 31, 1966. Entries come in two formats. The first is dated and describes travel details (destination, time of day, routes), daily activities, interactions and meetings with colleagues. The second format includes numbered topics including quantity and distribution of snap traps; details on mist traps; quantity of mammals collected; quantity of trap nite (?); weather conditions, temperature, vegetation and habitat, sometimes with time of day; animals processed including specimen numbers. There are hand drawn maps of collecting locations.
