Abstract

This volume is a catalog of bird specimens collected on islands on the Pacific Ocean on Southern Island Cruise (SIC) 18 from 16 March through 18 April 1967 for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. Field numbers span from 6899 to 7112. Locations include Palmyra Island [Palmyra Atoll], Fanning Island [Tabuaeran], Christmas Island [Kiritimati], Jarvis Island, Malden Island [Malden], Starbuck Island [Starbuck], and Swains Island. Fields include field no., species, date, where collected, sex data, age, weight & fat condition, misc. data, and prep. Species include Sterna fuscata [Onychoprion fuscatus], Gygis alba, Anous spp., and others. Misc. data appears to include type of preparation and letter codes which may be indications of molt, color notes, etc. Recorders include F. Smith, D. L. Stadel, and others.
