Abstract

This volume is a catalog of bird specimens collected at sea on Southern Island Cruise (SIC) 18 on the Pacific Ocean from 15 March to 25 April 1967 for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. Field numbers span from 2718 to 2763. Locations are in an area of the Pacific Ocean approximately bounded by 14° S to 8° N and 157° to 177° W. A few records have the localities "offshore - Palmyra Island," "offshore - Malden Island," or "offshore Baker Island" instead of coordinates. Fields include field no., species, date, position, sex data, age, weight & fat condition, misc. data, and prep. Species include Sterna fuscata [Onychoprion fuscatus], Puffinus pacificus, Sula spp., and others. Remarks appear to include type of preparation and letter codes which may be indications of molt, color notes, etc. Recorders include D. L. Stadel and others.
