Abstract

This volume is a catalog of bird specimens collected on Southern Island Cruise (SIC) 16 on the Pacific Ocean from 21 November to 7 December 1966 for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. Field numbers span from 6794 to 6856. Locations include Howland Is, Baker Is, Swain's Is [Swains Island], Phoenix Is [Rawaki], and Enderbury Is. [Enderbury Atoll]. Fields have no headings but appear to include field number, species, sex, location, date, weight, fat condition, gonads, remarks, unknown [type of preparation?], and recorder name and number. Species include Sterna fuscata [Onychoprion fuscatus], Arenaria interpres, Anous spp., and others. Remarks include notes on molt, feathers, soft part colors, brood patch, etc. Recorders include R. W. Tuxson, Heiden, L. N. Huber, and others.
