Close
PrintThis volume is a catalog of bird specimens collected at sea on Southern Island Cruise (SIC) 15 on the Pacific Ocean from 11 September to 20 October 1966 for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. Field numbers span from 2418 to 2509. Locations are in an area of the Pacific Ocean approximately bounded by 1° S to 16° N and 172° to 179° W, with a concentration of localities in an area approximately bounded by 1° S to 1° N and 175° to 179° W. A few records have the localities "30 mi SE Baker I" or "4 mi W Baker I." instead of coordinates. Fields have no headings but appear to include field number, species, sex, location, date, weight, fat condition, gonads, remarks, type of preparation, and recorder name and number. Species include Sterna fuscata [Onychoprion fuscatus], Puffinus tenuirostris, and others. Remarks include letter codes which may be indications of molt, color notes, etc. Recorders include L. N. Huber, F. Smith, and others.
