Abstract

The notebook documents entomological field work in Florida and Mexico, 1905 - 1908. There is expressed doubt whether the creator was H. G. Dyar. Entries discuss collecting trips. Entries vary greatly in length; some are only one line, others half a page. Entries cover details about habitat, weather, flora and fauna (types of insects and phase of development) observed, colleagues with whom worked (usually by last name), travel details (routes, mode of travel, distances, accommodations), specimens collected, and insect characteristics. There are sketches of insect anatomy. Collecting locations include Florida (Key West); Mexico (Orizaba, Córdoba). The second half of the notebook is blank.
